Shakespeare Broadband Antenna
« on: June 24, 2020, 12:30:27 PM »
Hi guys,
A few years (5+?)ago someone posted that they were able to get a Shakespeare HS 2774-1-R Broadband Antenna from Shakespeare s government division, or something like that. Pricing was surprisingly lower than normal commercial. (Also surprising since they usually pay more)
Anyone still have that connection and used it lately?
TIA!

I bought a couple from that source, I think Bob and Bill Waters had the connection and Pat as well... I'll look into where and if....

Okay guys I found the search function..ended up getting Bill W's old antennas and a radio. All is good!
Even had a good time discussing fishing and "the good old days" over a few Pacificos!

Life is good!

BTW: I still would like a current reference on the antenna source though!

Hi Rich,

That antenna is 6.5 ft, 4db and 2x the cost. So it's worse RX/TX and more expensive.

I've had good luck for years with the 5225-XT with the same application.

I've found some on-line retailers selling the XT for $99 + free shipping.

Then you can spend all the saved money on more Pacifico's. :P

Thanks Pat..new ones almost installed.
And BTW: I was using a Digital Antenna #992 MW for years.Worked great and had a good SWR for the club frequencies. Had to replace it when a large American flag I was flying off the rigger halyards broke. The resultant tangle broke the antenna.
