Satellite Tag Placement
« on: August 20, 2025, 04:53:46 PM »
DAC Members,
At the last membership meeting on Marlin Fishing, Bob Kurz an IGFA Trustee, gave a talk on IGFA Great marlin Race results. 6 Tags were deployed amongst various clubs in California. The Tag placed on August 11 on Showtime won the IGMR. Another tag was deployed by Wild Bill on September 6th.
The Showtime fish traveled 448 miles from deployment off Catalina Island after 181 days at sea.

On August 17, 2025, Wild Bill deployed another tag for the program.

At the Membership meeting, Bob Kurz and Dave Peter petitioned members to sponsor another tag. Over $5,000 was committed and the Wild Bill tag was the first to be deployed.
I want to thank the DAC Members for their extreme generosity. These Satelite tags are very expensive and the program relies on our members to keep the program running.

Bob Waters.
Fish Chair.

I'm sure I left out some details and I apologize if I did

I want to congratulate Wild Bill for placing a tag in a fish during the early part of the season when few fish were around. Good job guys.
